For website owners
About our website checker
What the BrightLeadsVerifier user agent does when it visits your site, and how to be left out.
BrightLeads checks whether the website listed for a business still loads, so we can tell buyers whether a business has a working site and when we last looked. The checker requests the home page only, follows redirects, reads the first 64KB and stops. It identifies itself as:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; BrightLeadsVerifier/1.0; +https://brightleads.org/verifier)
It does not crawl beyond the home page, submit forms, or collect content from your site. Each address is checked at most once every 30 days.
If you’d rather we didn’t list your business at all, ask us to remove it. We suppress the record as soon as the request arrives.
